Committees

All current, active paid members of the Chapter are eligible to serve on a committee. Additional criteria may be required for some committees. Most committee deliberations are accomplished by phone, fax, or email, with the exception of the Audit Committee and the Budget Committee.

All Chairs are designated by the Chapter President. Membership requirements, if any, are listed below with the descriptions.

Committee Interest Application

Ad Hoc Committee - Policy Manual

  • This committee shall review and update the manual in even years.

  • This committee meets in March (even year) and has reports ready for the June Meeting.

  • 3 active or honorary members

Athenian Dialogue / Special Programs Committee

  • This committee plans the Athenian Dialogue hosted by the Chapter.

  • This committee meets in March and has the report for the November Meeting held in even years.

  • 3 active or honorary members.

Audit Committee

  • This committee reviews the Chapter's bank account(s) annually during the month of November.

  • This committee shall present their findings in a report to the Chapter for approval at the February meeting.

Budget Committee

  • Membership shall consist of the current Treasurer, President-elect and one (1) regular member

  • Duties - assist in the preparation and presentation of the calendar year budget.

Clerk (Member) of the Year Committee

  • This committee is responsible for establishing guidelines and eligibility for nominating a Lone Star Chapter Member of the Year, and a nomination for TMCA Clerk of the Year and Deputy/Assistant Cleark of the Year.

  • This committee meets to determine nominations in accordance with the TMCA schedule.

  • 3 active members.

Holiday Celebration Committee

  • This committee is responsible for planning, coordinating, and hosting the holiday program held in December.

Membership Committee

  • This committee maintains communication with members regarding matters of interest and importance and develops a program to increase and maintain membership.

  • This committee is comprised of at least one member from each county in the Lone Star Chapter Region.

  • Each representative will focus on communications with members and non-members in their county and encourage membership and meeting attendance.

Newsletter Committee

  • This committee assists with the creation and distribution of the Chapter’s quarterly newsletter.

Nominating Committee

  • This committee is responsible for officer nominations for the upcoming year.

  • This committee shall meet in July of each year. A report (nominations for officers) will be submitted to the Chapter at the August meeting, and an Election of Officers will occur at the September meeting.

Policy/Procedure Manual Committee

  • Membership shall consist of three (3) Regular members.

  • Duties - review and recommend amendments in even-numbered years.

Scholarship/Fundraising Committee

  • This committee serves two purposes:

    • First, to review scholarship applications and approve/deny requests according to the guidelines.

    • Second, to coordinate and administer fundraising efforts throughout the year to raise funds for the scholarships.

Technology/Website Committee

  • This committee is responsible for the Lone Star Chapter website, including updates and maintenance.

  • This committee also maintains and makes official posts on social media accounts.
